COST CONTROL ENGINEER

request on urgent basis for leading contracting & oil services company in Yemen

The duties :

1. To identify areas of budget concern and potential impact on project financial performance.
2. Creating Budget Sheet in the software System based on the approved Estimated Budget prepared by the Head of Section. This
will be the basis of input and output performance of the project which also justifies the viability of every item.
3. Ability to establish market unit rates use for pricing during Tender Stages.
4. Good knowledge of local sources of material and equipment commonly use in the industry for identifying the usage of the
item for correct cost coding.
5. Reports on deviations, under runs and overruns.
6. Daily evaluation and controlling of requisition and invoices coming from sites. To established the correct cost code of
every item as per the nature of work where it used.
7. Updating Budget Sheet weekly, to monitor the flow of project budget in order to maximize the use of resources and minimize
expenses.
8. Provide efficiency control by comparing actual and planned Manpower, Materials and Machineries as per reports coming from
project sites..
9. Prepare Comparison Sheets of quantities regarding Store Stock Report from site against the controlled materials through
Invoices.
10. Reports on deviations, under runs and overruns.
11. To coordinate with the Site Staff whenever clarification arises and information are needed regarding invoices to be
controlled and process daily.
12. To update weekly the Monitoring Sheets of major items* of construction in order to establish the remaining, delivered and
used materials in the site. *(Rebar, Concrete, Woods, Blocks & Cement).
13. Coordinate with the QS Section regarding sub-contractor’s billing and valuation and to identify any variations with
regards to the approved agreement for budget editing.
14. Prepare memorandum & correspondence as per the Manager directed.
15.. Filing of invoices, quotations, memorandum and correspondence accordingly as per project.

Duties and responsibilities, Assisting in the following jobs,

Coordinate and liaison with overseas suppliers
Coordinate with Jeddah and Dammam sales team and acquire Raw Material requisitions
Float raw material RFQ’s
Prepare and maintain record of Quotations and make analysis for received quotations
Prepare purchase orders for approved contracts
Prepare LC applications as per contract terms and conditions
Liaison with bank for further follow up until the LC is opened
Review LC terms and conditions
Liaison with suppliers regarding the LC conformity and prepare amendments if required
Insure incoming shipments with insurance provider
Expedite shipment arrivals and liaison with clearing agent and stores to ensure timely material receipts.
Liaison with QC and production for any damage and quality claim and raise these claims and follow up the claims until
settlement
Sourcing suppliers for spare parts and raising RFQs
Liaison with spare parts requester until specs approval and P.O preparation
Making shipment arrangements for spare parts
Insuring incoming spare parts and expediting deliveries
Raising claims for spare parts quality concerns and follow up
Liaison with Finance for outstanding or due payments for spare parts and raw material

Compiling comprehensive reports for incoming raw material and spare parts (Pipeline)
Compiling reports for the material received by Jeddah and Dammam stores and analyzing the quantities received are conforming
to the order
Etc

Requirements:

Bachelor degree, excellent oral, writing skills in English. Excellent in business letter writing, compiling reports in MS
excel and power point presentations. Can work under pressure. Previous experience with steel industry and shipping is
preferred, Familiar with corporate banking and LC terms and conditions.
