Oman International Container Terminal (OICT), situated in the Port of Sohar, is a joint - venture between Hutchison Port Holding (HPH), the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, Steinweg of the Netherlands and a number of the well-established Omani investors. OICT is currently being developed into a modern container handling facility with capabilities of accommodating the latest generation of mega-vessels. OICT will serve as a gateway for international trade in Oman and a hub for global container carrier connections. The port of Sohar is located outside the Straits of Hormuz in the Gulf of Oman, approximately 200Km from Muscat and 160 Km from Dubai.

OICT is a member of the HPH Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL). HPH is the world's leading port investor, developer and operator with interest in 24 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Today, HPH operate in a total 47 ports together with a number of transportation related service companies.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER



Duties and Responsibilities:


This position entails being part of a new start-up team, taking over full responsibility for establishing, developing and securing deals with key shipping lines, shippers & consignees, freight forwarders, and major end-users. This is a hands-on senior business development role where you will be required to generate revenues from new accounts as well as provide ongoing account management for existing customers, thereby achieving repeat sales. Regional travels are expected.


Experiences and Qualifications:

Container terminal or Logistics sales experience preferred although not a requirement.
Ability to conduct commercial and contract negotiations of complex and high-valued contracts.
Intensive customer interaction including presentation and RFQ responses.
Proven sales track record.
Good knowledge of English.
Very strong customer orientation and ability to create long term relationship across all levels of the organization (technical, marketing, management).
Independent and self-motivated.
The position is based in Dubai
