Control Room Operators (4 vacancies)

Operation, Management and Maintenance of an Electricity Network

Location: Doha, Qatar

The Mission

The Control Room Operator is responsible for the operation of the electricity network (including 1 32kV, 66kV and 11kv) over a designated area of jurisdiction. He is required to
safeguard the availability and performance of the electricity network.

Main tasks

• Monitor and operate the electricity network
• Analyze network loads and capacity
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with relevant standard work practices
• Report non-compliances
• Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations
• Co-ordinate planned and emergency switching on the network to isolate faulty sections, ensure supply is restored / maintained
• Write, check and authorize planned and emergency switching sheets
• Write, check and authorize work orders
• Liaison with other control centers
• Prepare and maintain operational records

Special Requirements and Working Conditions

• The incumbent will be required to participate in an after hours standby roster for the control room
• Network control is a 24-hour operation. The incumbent will be required to undertake shift work

Education / Certification

• BSc or Associate Diploma of Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Previous experience in operations up to 132kV

Specialized Job Knowledge / Demonstrated Ability

• Extensive substation and operating experience in utility networks / industry power grids
• Sound knowledge of protection systems and other substation equipment
• Detailed knowledge of procedures and operating practices competencies

Switching Engineers (4 vacancies)

Operation, Management and Maintenance of an Electricity Network

Within the project, The Switching Engineer is the technical specialist for switchgear.

He performs switching operations in the electricity network (including 132kv, 66kV and 11 kV) over a designated area of jurisdiction. He is required to establish and maintain safe working conditions for maintenance and repair works and to perform switching operations without jeopardizing the power supply or damaging equipment.

Main tasks

• Witness site acceptance tests
• Check technical documentation
• Check work orders
• Monitor the condition of electrical equipment
• Perform switching operations on the switchgear according to instructions received
from control room
• For work orders, establish safe working conditions acc. electric safety rules
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with relevant standard work practices
• Prior to re-energizing, check and test electrical equipment after maintenance works or
repair works
• Report non-compliances
• Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations
• Liaison with control room
Special Requirements and Working Conditions
• The incumbent will be required to participate in an after hours standby roster

Educational Certification

• BSc or Associate Diploma of Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Previous Experience as Switching Engineer

The candidate will report to the Deputy Head of HOCD and will responsible for evaluating the credit risk of new businesses and reviewing periodic risk of existing assets.


Responsibilities


• Revise risk ratings if necessary. to enable the bank to take timely action to protect asset values where necessary.
• Evaluate credit risk relating to new corporate business proposals and pursue risk-conscious business with timely decision-making.
• Undertake portfolio studies of credit risks within a Unit, industry or economic sector to control and evaluate risk on a portfolio basis.
• Ensure that business units comply with the credit policies, procedures and customer limit specifications and maintain the integrity of control systems.
• Review credit risk (financial/transactional) to confirm that credit risk remains acceptable and authorize renewal for the continuation of existing credit limits.


Qualification/Experience

• University degree in business administration, ideally MBA/ACCA/ CIMA/CA/CPA/CFA.
• At least 10 years of core banking (Corporate Banking/Credit) experience in a similar role in a bank in the Middle East.
