Due to continued expansion and its success in the market place, Abu Dhabi
Ship Building (ADSB) is seeking to recruit qualified candidates for its
shipyard in Mussafah, for the following positions:

FRP LAMINATING / TOOLING SUPERVISORS

The ideal candidates would have a diploma of certified apprenticeship in
FRP boat building or a mechanical technical school or equivalent in
experience. Preferably having thorough knowledge of FRP boat building
operations, tooling development, tolerance acceptance, and material
engineering. Incumbent must possess effective communication skills in
English both verbal and written, and should be familiar with most PC base
applications. Responsibilities would include but not limited to:
Understanding the Work Definition and assisting in developing the project
plans; Paying attention to Project Milestones; Aiding in the production
engineering of laminate structures and parts; Managing manning levels to
meet goals; Plan ahead to ensure the project stays on schedule; Managing
and resolving material issues; Interfacing with other departments within
the company for quality related issues; Conduct time in motion studies,
and recording man hours to job numbers weekly; Staying abreast of current
material and production technologies; Maintaining correct tolerances and
handling of materials; Ensuring department machinery is maintained and
used correctly.

FRP LAMINATION FOREMEN / TECHNICIANS

Ideal candidates must have thorough knowledge of FRP boat manufacturing,
FRP material usage and handling with effective communication skills in
English. Responsibilities would include but not limited to:
Understanding daily tasks and their scheduled completion times; Ability to
read drawing and instructions; Setting up production areas effectively
with production flow as priority; Manipulating cradles, molds, plugs,
staging, completed parts safely and effectively; Identify building
materials for specific projects and handle them accordingly; Maintain a
high level of cleanliness at all times in order to avoid lamina
contamination; Understanding fiber layout instructions are conforming to
rigorous wet out criteria; Core bedding and vacuum bagging methods; Gel
coat applications; Catalyst measurements and calculations (gel tests);
Staying abreast of current material and production technologies.

SENIOR BUYER

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 8-10 years experience as
Senior Buyer in major shipyard. Business and /or Engineering Degree
preferred. Excellent knowledge of shipbuilding materials and practices.
Project buying experience of major ship components and systems. Material
sourcing in South East Asia, Far East & Western Europe. Strong RFQ
preparing, negotiating, cost analyzing and evaluating skills. Fluency in
commercial terms (T & Cs, LOCs, INCOTERMS, Euronorms) and technical
standards (DIN, EU, JIS, ASTM, ASME). Computer literate; e-commerce
experience a plus. Independent operator/thinker, self-discipline and
motivation, team player, good communicator and with unquestionable ethics.
Fluency in English (written & spoken).
