Position Responsibilities: Project Engineer will report to the Site Construction Manager and be responsible for the coordination of engineering and design with field construction activities. This includes, but not limited to the following:
• Provide input, support and implementation of the Project Health and Safety Program
• Coordination and interface with engineering and design for clarification of design for field construction
• Coordination and interface with client regarding startup and commissioning relative to activities during construction and operations and maintenance prior to turnover
• Coordination of construction drawings and documents during construction
• Work with individual discipline Construction Managers (CMs) for coordination and resolution of design conflicts and/or questions.
• Arrange and coordinate meetings with subcontractors, vendors and other parties and communicate information as necessary to CCII design center(s) in the USA
• Witness critical phases of construction and perform quality assurance function in order to comply with CCII Project Quality Requirements, and assure that all subcontractors are in conforming to project quality control and testing requirements per the Project Specifications (QA/QC).
• Provide direct interface with local consultants for resolution of engineering and design conflicts and /or questions
• Knowledge and understanding of medium and low voltage power systems and related systems
• Knowledge and understanding of distributed control systems (DCS)
• Knowledge and understanding of uninterruptible power systems (UPS)
• Knowledge and understanding of relays and relay settings
• Knowledge and understanding of NEC, European and other Codes and Standards
• Provide direct resolution of engineering and design conflicts and make decisions as necessary to aid in the progress and successful completion of the project
• Provide assistance and input to the Site Construction Manager during site coordination and progress meetings
• Maintain master set of design drawings and documents that accurately reflect the “AS-CONSTRUCTED” status of the project and communicate this information to Constructors International, Inc. (CCII) design center(s) in the USA for incorporation for record.

Qualifications and Skills: Due to the unique nature of the IPP the Project Engineer must have an extensive electrical background and a minimum of 10 years of related field experience.

Education: Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred but not required

Registration and Certification: P. Eng. Or P. E. is not requisite


Project - Engineering, Design, Procurement Support and Construction Management of the Independent Power Project (IPP1) located at the AL Udeid Air Base in the Emirate State of Qatar. The facility is a simple-cycle power generation facility comprised of four each Turbomach combustion turbine generators (CTGs) operating in an island mode. The project also includes all other balance of plant (BOP) facilities and systems necessary to support function, operations and maintenance.

o Knowledge in J2EE Technologies (Java / JSP / HTML / XML)

o Knowledge in Visual Basic / ASP.
o Knowledge in Oracle / MS SQL.
o Knowledge in IBM suite of products like Websphere Application Server, MQ, MQ Broker & Process Server.
3. Excellent knowledge of UML fundamentals and OO approach to software development.
